Beki Winter

Chair of Trustees

My background is in 3rd sector project management, supporting vulnerable adults and more recently, as a community led housing advisor, supporting churches and community groups to develop affordable homes. I moved to Kendal just as Outside In was in its final stages of preparing to open. I joined others in painting and cleaning the centre and once it opened, my kids and I were happy regulars. Outside In helped me make friends as well as giving me a place to relax while the kids burned off their energy so when an opportunity to get involved with the board was advertised, I jumped at the chance. Since then, we’ve weathered the covid storm and I have taken on the role of chair in order to support the charity to thrive over the next few years.

Veronica Broyd

Trustee

I worked for many years as a Teacher and then Head at Brantfield Nursery in Kendal, where we focused on providing high-quality learning experiences both outside and in. I am now excited by this opportunity to continue working with children and families through the Outside-In Kendal project.

Marhi Helme

Trustee

I didn’t, perhaps, realise just quite how much work would be involved in settling up the centre but we have made it after 3 years of very hard work! My children are 3 and 5, I am a veterinary surgeon and will be seen teaching children about animal anatomy and husbandry and bandaging in the role play vets from time to time. I am passionate about giving all children special experiences, showing everyone kindness and also excellence of service. I write children’s books, fell run and rock climb and can be seen biking my two children up and down the hill to school and nursery most days.
